Spring 2013 Trends: Laser Cut Neutrals

There are cutouts, and then there are laser cuts. Laser cutting started as a helpful method of shaping industrial materials, but it's really catching the fashion world by storm. Using lasers on the material allows for more intricate and precise shapes to be removed from the fabric, leaving you with a garment that has a very distinctive look.

Laser cut chiffon and polyester tops have been spotted here and there this past season, but the Spring 2013 shows revealed more tailored pieces, often showcasing laser cuts on structured materials (e.g. lots of leather). This makes for a super polished, super luxe looking piece.
