This first set of "This is Why We Love" items is inspirational for a number of reasons. Obviously these pieces are beautiful, but A.L.C. (Andrea Lieberman Collection) is the brainchild of a woman who got her start in the industry by styling, which is kind of a dream of mine. (Don't worry, I'll definitely get to L'wren Scott in the near future.)
After attending Parsons in her hometown of New York City, Andrea opened her own boutique that gained such a devout following that she segued into the celebrity stylist world. In 2009 she debuted A.L.C., combining a sleek and tailored silhouette with luxe fabrics and tasteful prints.
I was most drawn to her printed pieces and am starting to see A.L.C.'s aesthetic as a gateway to prints. The way she pairs her patterns with classic shapes and muted or neutral tones takes the fear factor out of incorporating prints into your wardrobe.
...And maybe we can all gradually work our way up to Mary Katrantzou looks together...
